Overview
At Cyber Intel Systems, we recognize that academic research institutions are at the forefront of national innovation and public health. However, the increasing complexity of federal and healthcare regulations—such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and HIPAA—places a significant administrative and technical burden on research labs.
The Academic Support Program (ASP) is our commitment to bridging the gap between advanced cybersecurity engineering and academic integrity. We provide our flagship data classification tools to accredited research institutions free of charge to foster a culture of security and compliance in the lab environment.
Program Benefits
- Full Licensing of CICB: Eligible institutions receive full access to the Cyber Intel Classification Banner (CICB) to visually manage CUI, PHI, and proprietary data levels.
- Compliance Alignment: Simplify audit readiness with tools that meet the “Logical Labeling” and “Visual Marking” mandates.
- Security & Transparency: We provide Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and security documentation to streamline approval by the University CISO and IT Compliance departments.
- Direct Feedback Loop: ASP partners have a direct line to our engineering team to influence the product roadmap based on specific research needs.
Eligibility
The program is open to:
- Accredited universities and colleges.
- University-Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs).
- Non-profit research organizations and academic medical centers.
Mutual Expectations
To maintain the integrity of the program, we ask our ASP partners for the following:
- Academic Use Only: The software must be used for non-commercial research, teaching, or institutional administration.
- Attribution: Permission for Cyber Intel Systems to list the institution or specific lab as an “Academic Partner” in our marketing materials and website.
- Professional Feedback: Periodic insights regarding the software’s performance and its effectiveness in mitigating data mishandling risks.
